The Old Cuban cocktail is largely considered a bit of a hybrid between a Mojito and a French 75. Mrs. Jones’ version is irresistible.
1 1/2 oz aged Rum
3/4 oz Lime Juice
1 oz Simple Syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
2 oz Prosecco
6 mint leaves (plus more for garnish)
Muddle the mint leaves and simple syrup in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
Fill halfway with ice and then add lime juice, bitters and rum.
Shake well and strain into a coupe glass.
Top with sparkling wine and garnish with a mint leaf.
